Soane Ltd
Soane Britain was founded By Lulu Lytle and Christopher Hodsoll in response to the demand for architecturally inspired bespoke furniture and lighting. The aim was to combine the superb design and workmanship of the most exciting antique pieces, with the highest quuaity British craftmanship and the flexibility of furniture made to specific requirements.
The company has successfully expanded and is now considered to be one of the best global bespoke furniture companies. Customers include the worlds top interior decorators (including Thierry Despont, Colefax & Fowler, David Collins and David Mlinaric ), style setters from Mick Jagger to David Tang, business leaders including Bill Gates and property developers including Candy & Candy. Our furniture can be found in many of the the Soho House clubs, Cecconi's restaurant and Mosimann's Private Members Club as well as boardrooms of international banks and businesses including Bentley Motors and ABN Amro. Soane's designs are now in demand for prestigious commercial projects such as The Chicago Spire (the tallest residential building in the world) where we have designed the interiors of 2 show flats.
The quality of the craftsmanship and consequent flexibility in production are what sets Soane apart. Soane Britain has great faith and a belief in Britain's traditional skills such as iron forging, saddlery, cabinet-making and bronze casting. Soane carries little stock other than showroom models. Therefore, from Suffolk and Cornwall to the Forest of Dean, a Soane cottage industry of blacksmiths, silversmiths, upholsterers and saddlemakers works away, making pieces to order. Producing the hand-made collection in the UK allows production and quality to be relentlessly monitored.
Soane now produce over 300 pieces, all in Britain. As well as the 21st century interpretations of exceptional 18th, 19th and 20th century originals Soane Britain produces its own collection of furniture, lighting, door handles, glass and silverware.
