Pathway for Professional Interior Designers
Published on:05/07/2010
The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) and the Interior Design Association (IDA) have agreed to collaborate on the development of a Pathway for Professional Interior Designers. For the first time, there will be a scheme for all areas of the interior design industry that will recognise and certify educational achievement and experience at all levels.
Jenny Gibbs, President of BIID comments, “We believe that this collaboration is an extremely positive step forward for both organisations and that the provision of a carefully structured Professional Pathway will be of great benefit to the interior design industry as a whole”. Managing Director and Chairman of the IDA, Colin Watson added, “I am delighted we are working with BIID on this as both organizations represent the full spectrum of interior design. It also provides a clear set of guidelines for those commissioning projects, on the experience and qualifications of the interior design team”.
