Launch of the BIDA Christmas Card Competition

The British Interior Design Association – BIDA – promotes professionalism within the interior design industry.
This year, the BIDA is delighted to announce its support of the Druk White Lotus School project in Ladakh. The school aims to provide a modern education for Ladakhi children – an education grounded in their own culture, which can prepare them to lead happy and productive lives.
The school is an on-going project, designed by project engineers and architects, Arup Associates and Ove Arup and Partners, and has been internationally recognised as ‘an exceptional project’. At the World Architecture Awards 2002, the school was awarded the following: Best green building in the world; Best educational building in the world; Asian building of the year.
The BIDA are delighted to be able to support the Druk White Lotus School and are therefore launching a Christmas Card design competition within the design industry, across all ages.
We are actively encouraging those associated with design and education to submit entries for a Christmas Card Design, which will be judged at Decorex 2005. Ian Thompson Associates, the organisers of Decorex, are delighted to be able to support this competition in conjunction with the BIDA.
An entry fee of £10.00 will be payable, accompanied by the completed artwork, and entry Form. All entries will be on display at Decorex International 25th –28th September at The Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London SW3.
All Christmas Card design entries will be for sale to visitors at Decorex and will include a number of designs by well-known faces within the design industry and also by famous celebrities. The winning design will be chosen as the official BIDA Christmas Card for 2005, with all profit from this competition going to support the latest development phase of the Druk White Lotus School.
