BIDA Website usage up by 225%

Following the successful re-launch of the British Interior Design Association website www.bida.org in January 2005, we are delighted to announce a stunning 225% increase in hits from 2.4 million in 2002* to 7.3 million in 2005. This represents over 111,000 visitors to the site per year.
Many BIDA designer members have reported a dramatic increase in leads coming via the new website, with several reporting that over half their new business is gained from clients searching www.bida.org. Julie Kent, a Member based in Bath informed the BIDA that, “Following the launch of the BIDA web site, I have had numerous enquires leading to projects both locally and nationally. Through these leads and referrals, I would say over 75% of our turnover has been thanks to the BIDA web site."
The new site was designed to make it easier and quicker for the public to find qualified, professional interior designers and also to provide BIDA members with a comprehensive resource of top quality industry suppliers as well as details on the latest BIDA events, services and benefits.
The redesigned website has an improved and more comprehensive search facility, enabling visitors to the site to search for designers and suppliers by name, practice experience, region or specialist area. All designers listed on the website are required to carry the relevant insurances necessary for running a professional practice.
In the near future the BIDA hopes to add a search facility for its International Members. This will cater for the large number of international enquiries received as nearly one quarter of the traffic to the website originates from the USA, Australia, Saudi Arabia, France and the Netherlands.
