BIDA Awards at Pulse by Top Drawer

Published on:08/06/2006

Following the very positive response to the British Interior Design Association (BIDA) awards at Pulse in 2005 the BIDA has once again this year presented a Winner and Highly Commended Award for Best Dressed Stand.

The judging panel was made up of BIDA Members: Karin Verzariu of Key Interiors, René Dekker of SHH and Sue Timney of Sue Timney Ltd. Anyone visiting Pulse this year would agree that the task of judging could not have been an easy one, with many visitors commenting on the great range of cutting-edge products and developing trends that they had seen at the show.

The 2006 ‘Winner of the Award for the Best Dressed Stand’ was presented to Dolce Villa Decoration. The BIDA judges selected the Dolce Villa Decoration stand as the recipient of this award for the outstanding manner in which ‘they displayed their beautiful products in clearly defined groups using colour and style. They made excellent use of all three dimensions of their stand, in particular of the height available, making their display visible from a distance. The design was elegant, creatively arranged and beautifully lit’.

Dolce Villa Decoration was founded in 1996, specialising in selling and manufacturing unique hand made and mouth-blown glass from all over Europe. Their collection is made up of beautiful colours in many different finishes including clear solid colours, opaline colours, antique, sand blasted and acid matt finishing. Dolce Villa Decoration strives to offer a collection that is beautiful as well as commercial. All pieces are hand made by skilled makers trained for many years in the intricate art of glassmaking. While the collections develop over time, best-sellers remain in production for as long as possible.

The 2006 ‘Highly Commended Award for the Best Dressed Stand’ was presented to Bluebell 33. Their collections include 100% natural wax scented gift candles, fashionable gift-wrap and greeting cards. The BIDA judges loved the way ‘they used dynamic colour to great effect. Many types of products were displayed and although there was an abundance of pattern and colour, co-ordination ensured that the stand appeared uncluttered and that their merchandise stood out from the crowd.

The BIDA will be presenting an award for Best Stand Design and 15 Swing Tags for Products of Outstanding Quality and Design Innovation at Decorex International, 24th-27th September 2006.
