BIID Retrofit Awards 2011 Shortlist Announced
Published on:03/03/2011
We are delighted to announce the shortlisted entries for the first BIID Retrofit Awards. The standard of submissions has been very high and included projects and products from leading names in the interior design industry. As an Institute we have a responsibility to try and advance the profession, to promote ways of improving the quality of the interiors in which we live and work and protect our resources and environment. One of the key aims of the Retrofit Conference and Awards was to highlight the importance of the challenges this particular area of design work brings and the positive response to this has been extremely encouraging
The expert judging panel composed of
Alastair Fuad-Luke – Sustainable Design Enabler
Lucy Pedlar – Architect & Founder of the Green Register
Katy Lithgow – Head Conservator, National Trust
Sally Storey – Design Director, John Cullen Lighting
will now be carefully considering these projects to select the winners in both categories to be announced at the end of the Retrofit Conference on Friday 11 March. The Awards will be celebrated with a drinks reception sponsored by GROHE, the world’s leading manufacturer of premium quality sanitary fittings.
The Awards will be presented by Wayne Hemingway, Designer & Founder of Hemingway Design and a leading figure in the environmental field.
