Thorp Design is a large London-based design company with 27 years of experience. Headed up by its founder Philippa Thorp, it comprises a talented team of architects and interior designers who enjoy undertaking a broad spectrum of projects, many of them international: elegant country houses, super-modern metropolitan apartments, imaginative children’s nurseries, chalets, sumptuous yacht and plane interiors, landscape gardening and commercial projects, such as the deluxe KX Gym in South Kensington, London. Thorp Design is as adept at renovating existing houses as it is at creating contemporary new-builds.
Central to its philosophy is a commitment to seeing a project through from start to finish – from firming up planning permission and project management to dreaming up superbly crafted, custom-made furniture. It offers a bespoke joinery and furniture service suited to individual’s needs.
Rather than imposing a house style, Thorp Design adapts to its clients’ specific tastes, making the experience collaborative. The design process is made abundantly tangible to clients, who see not only ultra-precise room plans but also detailed drawings of fully furnished interiors, which immediately bring them to life. Thorp Design will also buy art and antiques to complement a client’s house and its colour scheme. Or it will design a room to complement a client’s collection of furniture and art.
