Interior Designer, René Dekker is a residential team leader and Associate at SHH - a London-based architecture and interiors practice with a global, award-winning portfolio, established in 1992.René and his team specialise in the creation of show-stopping interiors schemes, which have won design awards across three continents and have graced the covers of magazines from Europe and the USA, to India, Australia and China.  René’s work has been published in ELLE Deco, the Robb Report, the White Book, Habitat and Architectural Digest Russia and France, amongst many others.  In 2011 René was included in Country & Town House Magazine’s ‘Top 50 Interior Designers in Britain’ list.  René has been a judge for both KBB and Rugmark, has written on interior design trends for The International Interior Design Yearbook, and has been invited to be a speaker on design trends at both the Surface Design Show and Decorex.In the prime residential market, Rene works as an Interior Designer, Decorator and Stylist right across the spectrum, from classical, traditional, period and listed buildings to modernist villas, houses and apartments and completely one-off, signature schemes.  .  Client briefs can begin with something as simple as ‘off-white, cream and funky’ (for the Kensington House project) or ‘Ralph Lauren meets the Four Seasons hotel’ (for the Avenue Road project).  The thrill of creating something new and building up a theme or idea throughout a scheme, layer by layer, is what inspires him and drives his design approach.
