Orna O'Reilly / Orna O'Reilly Design

Working in the west of Ireland since early 2000, Orna has a well established interior design business in Galway. Taking projects from planning stage to completion, Orna supervises all work personally and considers close attention to detail to be essential.

Working closely with her clients to achieve their dream homes, Orna tries to be as flexible as possible in her approach to different styles and finishes.

Orna qualified in Interior Design in the eighties. She moved from Ireland to South Africa in 1987 where she opened her own business. After further qualifications, which included a Higher Diploma (1991) and an Advanced Diploma (1993) in Interior Design, Orna was accepted as a Full member of South African Guild of Interior Designers (S.A.G.I.D.). Orna returned to Ireland in 2000.

Orna extended her business to Mozambique in 1992, after the civil war, when she made her name refurbishing the beautiful old Portuguese houses in Maputo. She became involved in many fascinating projects which included working on the residences and office suites of several Ambassadors and the directors of aid agencies. In South Africa Orna was involved in numerous large projects, including the design and decoration of several government office suites; hotels; guest lodges; a golf club; a hairdressing salon and innumerable private homes.

Projects undertaken by Orna O’Reilly Design are mainly residential, although four large bar/restaurant projects have been completed over the past couple of years, including the bar and departure lounge at Galway Airport. The inteior design and decoration of two large housing developments in Galway have recently been completed.

Current projects include a new medical centre, several refurbishments and three new houses from planning stage to completion later this year.

Orna supplies fabrics, wallpapers, light fittings and furniture to her clients.
