Jane Dodson / KSD Design Company

Having been educated privately and subsequently studied English and Philosophy at university, Jane Dodson studied French Literature and History of Art at the Sorbonne. She then became an ’apprentice’ to an Italian antique restorer in London specialising in gilding, Japan/lacquer work, painted furniture and some picture frame restoration. In 1976 she became a director running the production side of a creative advertising agency making television commercials and creative advertising campaigns. Early in 1982 she formed her interior design business.

Jane has combined the modern applications, commercial requirements and strict budget necessities of advertising together with the historical and more traditional influences of her education, apprenticeship and ’hard practical graft’ in antiques into her interior design company. She is therefore equipped to tackle all types of projects and is able to combine the modern aspects of life with traditional, proven aestheticism to suit any requirement. She is able to achieve a "look" which might be contemporary and yet maintains traditional solidarity, or be traditional in concept, but contains modern sleek mechanics.

Jane Dodson enjoys challenges and hates the possibility of being beaten by anything. She likes to combine the very practical side of life and its normality with the rather more tangible and exciting beauty of creating an atmosphere conducive to comfort - at an affordable cost.

Jane specialises in providing the full interior design service for hotels, restaurants, the leisure industry, boardrooms and the residential market and prides herself in being able to understand a client’s wishes quickly and then interpreting them into the full colour scheme. She loves the excitement of working with clients, both here and abroad, and carrying out varied projects, from contemporary to the more traditional at the same time - no project is too large or too small.
