Kinari Design is an international design consultancy specializing in the interior architecture, design and decoration of luxury residential and boutique commercial properties. We have acted on behalf of clients in Europe, USA, Asia and the Caribbean. The majority of our clients come from the financial, legal and corporate worlds and require innovative design in addition to a high level of professionalism.
Kinari Design schemes are contemporary, influenced by both Asian and Western ideas, and are created to fulfil the specific requirements of each individual project. Based on a comprehensive brief Kinari Design will manage the design process from securing planning permission through to final delivery of the scheme. Exclusive features such as advanced audio visual installations, media rooms and private cinemas, sophisticated security systems, wine cellars, swimming pools, gyms, spas and yoga rooms can be incorporated as required. Bespoke cabinetry and furniture, exceptional surface finishes, exquisite natural materials and luxurious fabrics are combined with meticulous care.
Kinari represents a traditional Japanese aesthetic based on unadorned beauty that uses a language of simple forms and natural materials. This semblance of simplicity requires skill and tenacity and is achieved by discipline and attention to detail.
After a career spanning twenty years working for major international banks in London, New York and Tokyo I changed careers and switched from running an international securities operation to studying at the New York School of Interior Design and Inchbald Design School in London before establishing Kinari Design in 2002.
My experience of developing and managing international businesses provides an invaluable understanding of the financial and practical aspects of project co-ordination, budget management and final delivery and I personally oversee each of our projects and liaise closely with the client on all aspects of their design scheme.
I am a full member and former board director of the British Interior Design Association, a full member of the International Interior Design Association in the US and an affiliate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
