Profile

Jennifer Granville-Dixon / Granville-Dixon Designs

Jennifer Granville – Dixon is professionally qualified with a first class honours degree in Interior Design. She is an experienced designer having started her company in 1972.

Jennifer works in contemporary and traditional styles. She gives a personal service working closely with clients interpreting their needs into creative yet practical, comfortable interiors.

A distinctive feature of Jennifer’s work is the use of mirrors and modern lighting which enables small spaces to appear spacious.
Some interiors have qualities that need to be accentuated and enhanced and rooms developed round these while others may have no inherent features so an interesting room has to be created according to the clients’ requirements.

Jennifer uses a balance of colours, textures and patterns and if required specialist joinery to create an exciting interior.
Detail is important to her – paintings, objects and sculpture can enhance an interior and create focal points if lit correctly.
Jennifer designs furniture which can be custom made if necessary. Jennifer has a part continental background and although she enjoys working on English country houses, she also loves the Mediterranean look of pure colours, natural materials and classical elements, arches and columns.

Many of Jennifer’s commissions have been repeats with clients coming back after many years.

Jennifer has worked in most fields of Interior Design including private residential projects, country houses, offices, restaurants, hotels, nightclubs and show flats.
Some specific past jobs include a Georgian house in Essex that was completely renovated and refurbished, a house in the Boltons, a Mayfair house, an Elizabethan manor house in Kent which was restored and converted into offices for a publishing firm, the presidential suite and supper club at the Hyatt Hotel in Kuwait, a residential complex in the Canaries, and a penthouse flat in Malta.

At present Jennifer is working on a house in Clapham and is refurbishing a hotel in Wales which she designed some years ago.

Jennifer will undertake projects from building works to finished decoration. She will also work on a consultancy basis.
