Nicky Mudie / Violet & George

Violet & George offer a full soft furnishing and interior decoration service. Their clients range from interior designers to clients who do not require the full service offered by a traditional interior designer, but simply need soft furnishings to complete the look of their home. Nicky’s background in interior design gives her the knowledge to be able to make home visits, to understand client’s needs and to complete their schemes with fabrics from a large samples library housed in Violet & George’s Fulham studio. As a designer, her bias is towards creating something unique for her clients, taking a piece of existing furniture and adding interesting details or making curtains with a twist that become an art form in themselves. 

Violet & George's inspiration has been drawn from fashion and architecture with modern fabrics being mixed with vintage trimmings, traditional fabrics being used in challenging ways and experimental collaborations with other fields of design. The traditional values of craftsmanship and quality underpin Violet & George's service. Specialising in beautifully made, cleverly designed soft furnishings, with techniques such as smocking and pleating given precedence, Violet & George provide a unique approach in a move away from recent trends for simplicity. From window dressings to lampshades Violet & George initially interview their clients to take a detailed brief from which a unique solution is presented.
