How do the points work?
Members are required to earn 20 CPD points a year. The following points system serves as a guideline of how many points a member is able to award themelsves for the activities they complete.
| Full day seminar, course or workshop | 8 CPD points |
| Half day seminar, course or workshop | 4 CPD points |
| Evening talk, course or workshop | 2 CPD points |
| Evening reception to view new collection or similar | 1 CPD point |
| Attending exhibition (maximum 3 points per annum) | 1 CPD point |
| Half day tour or visit | 2 CPD points |
| Half day tour or visit with qualified guide/speaker | 3 CPD points |
| Full day tour or visit (more for extended tour to be agreed on individual basis) | 4 CPD points |
| Full day tour or visit with qualified guide/speaker | 5 CPD points |
| Reading trade publications or books - (please specify which) | maximum of 1 CPD point per annum |
| Mentoring (maximum 4 per annum) | 4 CPD points |
| Lecture (the preparation and delivery of a completely new lecture for those teaching regularly - including the preparation) | 4 CPD points |
| Authorship: Articles | 3 CPD points each |
| Authorship: Interior Design Book | 10 CPD points |
| Volunteer (design related) | 2 CPS points |

- Extending knowledge of history and culture
- Developing personal skills (this could be taking a related course such as a language or CAD or developing an area of specialization)
- Personal career development (such as lecturing, public speaking, writing articles or books, attending industry conferences, visits or tours
